Two payments, and everything that sits between them
Pay for the purchase first, then arrange international shipping. Understand which charges each payment covers and why an estimate can change after packing.
Your purchase payment and parcel payment cover different services. The official tutorial, checked on 14 October 2026, also describes estimated shipping prepayment followed by adjustment to the packed parcel’s actual charge.
The published split
Oopbuy describes item purchase and international shipment as separate payments, and advises estimating shipping before ordering.
Shopping procedure, operator help centre, read 2026-10-10
| Payment one | Payment two | |
|---|---|---|
| Buys | The goods, and their domestic freight to the warehouse | The international leg, and the declaration that goes with it |
| Paid when | At order time | When you pay for the parcel, after reviewing its quote |
| Based on | The listing, selected variant and actual seller delivery charge | Parcel measurements, destination, line rules and selected services |
| Can be estimated beforehand | Usually visible at checkout; later purchase adjustments are possible | An estimate before ordering, refined as parcel details become available |
| Reversible | Depends on the order state and current cancellation/refund terms | Check the parcel state and current cancellation/refund terms |
The same order, as two ledgers
After the purchase payment, item and seller delivery charges are usually recorded. Check any adjustment request. The parcel quote still needs measurements, packaging and a line choice.
Right after the first payment
Usually known by this stage
- The item price
- The purchase record, subject to any actual price adjustment
- Domestic freight to the warehouse
- The seller delivery charge shown in the purchase record
Still open, and what it waits on
- The chargeable weight
- After the parcel is packed and the line’s chargeable-weight rule is applied
- The volume the parcel occupies
- After the relevant packing or rehearsal measurement; check the final quote
- What it ships with
- When you decide to stop waiting for the rest
- The route
- When eligible lines and the parcel quote are available
- Customs declaration
- At submission
- Import duty or tax at your end
- According to destination rules and how the line handles taxes
Treat the first payment as one part of the delivered cost. Keep room for the international shipment and any services, fees or destination charges that apply.
Why the gap exists at all

Seller-provided dimensions and weights can support an early estimate. Warehouse measurements provide more information, but the final combined parcel can differ after packing. The selected line’s billing rules determine which weight is charged.
Oopbuy’s current tutorial describes a shipping prepayment based on an estimate, then a top-up or refund if the packed parcel’s actual shipping cost differs. Check the final payment record rather than assuming the first quote is fixed.
Decisions that affect the parcel
You can choose which items to combine, which eligible line to use and which packing or optional services to request. Storage limits and return deadlines still apply while you wait. Check each item’s account status before delaying a shipment.
Consolidation may spread some charges across several items, but a larger parcel can also cross a line’s size or weight limit. Compare the available quotes for the actual parcel rather than assuming bigger always costs less per item.
Points this raises
The first payment was made and the item turned out unavailable
Check the cancellation and refund details shown for that order, including any delivery charge already incurred. Ask support to confirm the refund amount and destination; they depend on the order state and payment terms.
Both payments at once
The published workflow separates the purchase and international parcel payments. You can estimate shipping earlier, but later packing and line selection can change the amount.
The listing price changed between saving and ordering
The published handling is a payment make-up set against the actual value of the item when the order is processed, so the difference is requested rather than absorbed.
Read each payment beside the status that created it
For a hypothetical purchase, the seller goods cost 180 CNY and domestic delivery is 12 CNY. The 192 CNY purchase payment gets that order into the buying process. It does not establish that the seller dispatched, that warehouse QC passed or that international delivery is paid.
When the goods reach the warehouse, keep the order number and check the photographed item. Only then choose the items, packing and eligible route for the parcel. Record the shipping prepayment separately. If the finished parcel creates a top-up or refund, match it with that parcel’s final record rather than changing the original product price in your notes.
This two-record habit also helps with a partial cancellation: one item’s credit can sit in the balance while the other items continue. Review the actual credit amount and destination before spending it on the next step.
